How do I book a free measure and quote?

Choose whichever way suits you:

  • Online. Fill in the form on our get a quote page.
  • Phone. Call 1300 980 501.
  • Email. Send your details to info@royalfloors.com.au.
  • In a showroom. Visit us in Penrith, Campbelltown, Hornsby or Logan, look at samples and ask the team to book your measure.

The online form asks for your name, phone, email and postcode. It also asks what flooring you are interested in, the type of project, when you need installation, your closest store and a few words about your plans. Once you send it, we will be in touch to arrange a time for your measure.

What should I have ready before the measure?

  • The rooms you want done. Include hallways, wardrobes and stairs, as these are easy to forget.
  • The flooring you have in mind. Carpet, hybrid, laminate, vinyl, timber or a mix. Not sure yet? Our hybrid vs laminate guide is a good place to start.
  • Ranges you like. Note the names and colours, such as Royal Hybrid Pro 9mm or Freedom carpet, so we can talk through the right samples.
  • Your timing. Tell us if you are working to a date, such as a move or the end of a renovation.
  • Photos. Handy if you visit a showroom first, so the team can see your space.
  • Strata rules. In an apartment, check your by-laws for rules about hard floors or noise.
  • Your questions. Write them down so nothing is missed on the day.

How should I prepare my rooms for the measure?

Person clearing a living room by moving a sofa on hardwood flooring, preparing for flooring measurement and quote.

The measure is quicker and more accurate when we can reach every wall, corner and doorway.

  • Move rugs, boxes, plants and small furniture away from the walls.
  • Make sure we can get into every room, including wardrobes, laundries and stairs.
  • Let us know when you book if a large piece of furniture blocks a wall.
  • Put pets in another room or outside.
  • Open the blinds so you can see the samples in natural light.
  • If you can, have everyone who will make the decision at home.

Getting ready for installation day is a bigger job. We will talk you through it once you go ahead with your quote.

How does Royal Floors measure for flooring installation?

At the visit, we measure each room you want done and look closely at the space. Here is what we check:

  • Room sizes and shapes. Including alcoves, wardrobes, hallways and stairs.
  • Doorways and transitions. Where the new floor meets tiles, carpet or another room, and whether doors may need trimming.
  • The existing floor. What is down now and what will need to come up.
  • The subfloor. Whether it is concrete or timber, and any signs of unevenness, damage or damp.
  • Layout. Which way boards should run, where carpet joins will fall and how much product is needed.

Product size affects layout and quantity. Carramar 4M carpet comes on a 4m roll for fewer joins, and Royal Procore Laminate comes in extra-long 2265mm boards. Pattern floors such as Royal Hybrid Herringbone take more planning. Our herringbone vs chevron guide explains the two patterns.

You can also see samples in your own light and ask how each floor is installed. Ready to book? Request your free measure and quote online or call 1300 980 501.

What should my quote cover?

Your written quote should set out the full scope of the job. Check it for these items, and ask us about anything that is not clear:

  • The product name, colour and quantity
  • Underlay, if your floor needs it
  • Installation
  • Floor preparation, such as levelling or repairs
  • Removal and disposal of old flooring
  • Trims, transition strips and skirting or scotia
  • Stairs, if you are having them done
  • Moving furniture, if needed
  • Warranty information for your range

Each range has its own product warranty. For example, Royal AquaCore Oak has a 30 year structural warranty, and Karndean LooseLay Originals has a lifetime residential warranty. Our warranty page explains the product and installation warranties.

What happens after I get my quote?

  • Take your time to read the quote and ask any questions.
  • Visit a showroom to see the samples again if you like.
  • Confirm your choice and book an installation date.
  • Prepare for installation day: clear the rooms, plan for furniture and appliances, and arrange access for our installation team.

Some floors, such as timber, may need to acclimatise before they are laid, and we will let you know if yours does. Learn more about flooring installation and carpet installation, or read new flooring before Christmas if you are working to a date.
